They should also be raised off the ground to stop damp effecting the floor and protect your pigs from small predators like cats and foxes. An absorbent layer of wood shavings should be kept on the floor of the hutch and the bedroom area should have a soft bedding material as wood shavings can irritate guinea pigs eyes. |
